Biomarkers of endometriosis: How far have we come and where are we going?

Endometriosis is a common gynaecological disease that characterized by endometrium-like tissue outside the uterine cavity. significantly compromises quality of life women and major cause infertility. The gold standard for diagnosis endometriosis visual inspection laparoscopy, which prolongs time to final diagnosis. This lack non-invasive diagnostic approaches why discovery biomarkers has been defined as research priority. In this report, we describe hypothesis-driven hypothesis-generating biomarker discovery, along with some important potential their characteristics, sensitivities, specificities. Finally, present our perspective on endometriosis, discuss results from previous more recent studies. Future studies must focus improving patient rather than discovering significant differences, therefore close collaboration between clinicians pre-clinical researchers essential.
